The Heat and other Hunger Games

Summer in Australia is not only perilous to those sitting next to someone running low on deodorant, but also to the tastebuds we live with, day in and day out.

While the temperature soars into the low or even better, the high thirties, the taste for food goes out the window and all that thrills is cold.

Whether it be an ice cream or just plain ice, the desire for liquid and frozen treats is much like the siren; a very attractive option- but one that comes with a flaw; the brain freeze.

As I sip a glass full of water and ice, the feeling of hunger that haunts me at them midnight snack it is the heat that keeps me away from the fridge... but then again is the heat really a bad thing then?
