Shoes have come a long way since the ancient Egyptians and probably even before then.
But today the humble sneaker is as large a fashion statement as the colour of our hair, or the shades that we wear, and yet we wear them on what is the most unnoticeable part of our body.
The sneaker has gone from the plain show that we do our running in to a complete show in them; layered in bright colours they either belong to the props of a circus or could singlehandedly be light guards on bikes.
In addition, the humble sneaker has evolved into being sleek, suave and yes, made with suede. They too are no longer the prison of Tinea but something to wear out to dinner in.
Wow.
