Season 3, Episode 7 “I Kissed a Girl”
The third season of the all singing, all dancing hit show Glee has generally had more storylines than it could poke a stick at. As a consequence, the show this third time round has generally had an episode focus on one of the characters, rather than unitedly display their issues.
The seventh episode, “I Kissed a Girl” carries on from the storyline of the sixth episode regarding the sassy Santana coming out of the closet in the harshest way possible; through a campaign advertisement by one of Sue Sylvester’s rivals.
Before the ad goes to air, the patriarch in waiting of the New Directions, Finn tries to make amends for feeling responsible for forcing Santana out of the closet.
This becomes to the theme of the Glee Clubs assignment “Lady Music Week” which includes songs by Pink and of course, Katy Perry who Glee has practically played her entire album.
It is needless to say that a rendition of Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” was in the track list this week.
Overall the episode was enjoyable, it had twists and turns but for the Glee Project fans out there, the use of Damian McGinty’s seven episode arc is lacklustre, with practically every episode apart from his debut either having face shots or one or two lines will disappoint.
So it begs the question what they will do when the next winner; Samuel Larsen features on the show as Puck’s Christian cousin?
