There are two things that I could be referring to in this post.
One, that I ardently admire the Glee character of Rachel Berry (Lea Michele); an ambitious performer whose goals are a taller order than her boyfriend, Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith).
However, the post is actually about a drink, and no any drink, it is an elixir of sweet fruits and ice blended together that soothes the throat but also revitalises, and tingles the tastebuds.
Inspired to make my own Boost Juice without the attached cost, I set out to replicate one of their menu (The Berry Crush) but without exact measurements; it was more a guessing game that could have went either way.
And then there was my ignorance of not tightening the bottom of the blender, and te apple juice began spilling out.
But I did recover!
Placing the blender on Smoothie mode and ensuring that the lid was held to avoid any more kitchen shenanigans.
So the fruits blended, and blended to a deep pink colour that was deliciously thick to pour into every glass.
So here is the recipe that serves around four people, plus, you’ll have some left over!
BERRY CRUSH
Around 200 grams of Blueberries
Around 200 grams of Raspberries
7 large strawberries (they do not need to be cut smaller)
Six or seven large ice cubes
Enough Apple Juice to cover the berries and ice mixture in the blender
Approximately 5 scops of Weis Berry Sorbet (or you can you any other brand of Sorbet)
Once this is all in the blender, make sure to hold down the lid, then pour and enjoy, and maybe with an umbrella in the drink to add to theme!
