Marriage, or Gay Marriage?

For while there have been an increased movement to legalise Gay Marriage in Australia, there has also been an increase on high profile people vowing not to wed until it is indeed legalised.

It is a good thing to some extent that this occurs, in that it draws publicity to the cause and high profile people generally representing the cause.

But I do ponder why they do this?

Couldn’t they protest with the movement if they feel passionate about the matter?

Couldn’t they do something other than a token gesture?

But don’t get me wrong, I think it is better to do something than nothing, and sometimes, 

I acknowledge there is only so much  one can do when it comes to a cause.
