Food to some is their be all, and end all, but most of the time, do not step outside their gastronomic comfort zones.
Which got me thinking, when you haven’t had a food, whatever it may be, for some time, does it taste better, or does it taste worse?
The other night, I had some chips, and they tasted alright, so I ponder whether I had a craving for them, or if the adage is true, absence really does make the tummy growl louder.
Interestingly though, there are other foods that defy that notion, making you feel after eating them, and that gets me thinking, does body know best? Is absence of food merely giving us a skewed perception, like the way of reminiscing a past relationship, we remember all the good times but block out the bad. Is food like that? Is food remembered for only when we liked it, but forget why we left it alone in the first place?
So I do wonder if food tastes better because we miss or because we think we do.
