Tonight, I was watching the Grand Final Programme of Australia’s edition of singing reality show the X Factor.
One of the performances required by each of the final three contestants is to have a duet with a guest performer. The guests were The Fray, Salt n Pepa as well as the lovely, Kylie Minogue (whose perfume’s taste smell delightful!).
I am fine with the fact that Minogue was there, she is such a landmark in Australian music.
However, in coordination with the 25th anniversary of the ARIA (Australian Music) Awards why couldn’t the contenders be given all Aussie artists?
As well, why couldn’t the artists be all up to the same standard, now don’t get me wrong, the acts were all great and I love a shake of Salt n Pepa as much as the next 80’s music loving cat does, but they don’t rally match to Minogue.
It places one contender behind the other, and besides I would have loved to see an all Australian act of guest performers.
