A Pound of Contradiction

And when you thought body image would improve.

There is no question that modelling and hose skinny lasses (asses) we see in the magazines, all glossy and superficial partake in influencing how we see how bodies when we stare longingly at our bodies in the mirror (yes, we’ve all been there, sucking in our tummies... even the most confident girls do).

So when the publicity of plus size models emerged as mainstream (shouldn’t it have always been that way? Another story, for another day, ladies) here they were, beautiful and realistically shaped women.

One of which was Crystal Renn, never a fat woman but was curvaceous, telling young girls that beauty is not a pant size, and that she was proud of looks.

Was, that’s past tense now.

Clearly that pride was not enough and the spawn of every lady’s Satan; Vanity has struck once more.

She looks gaunt, thin and cheeks nonexistent (on either the butt or face).

So much for a change, Renn was one of the most well known plus size girls but now, will be known more for that weight-loss.

If anything, the Daily Red thinks that it is disenchanting to the perception of body image, that a plus size model loses weight contradicts thoughts and hopes these new set of plus size girls will be the change needed for appreciating that having a butt and boobs is okay.
