A Ménage A Trois of the chocolate kind

As the Daily Red reported last week, I’d be trying out a chocolate ménage a trois; a fondue that combined the diverse flavours of dark, milk and white chocolate.

So how did it go? How did it taste? Well the anticipation is killing me, so here it goes.
It tasted... intriguing, no really, the white and dark chocolates overpowered the milk... the white added a creaminess while the grains of cocoa and strong flavour that comes with 70% dark chocolate were evident. Milk was the one hit wonder in this situation, going to the background of obscurity.

And the colour? To be honest, not as fantastic as I wanted, it didn’t go to dark (which was to be expected) and I didn’t try melting the white chocolate in another tin then putting in with the other chocolate in a swirling style. Oh well, it gives the Daily Red another excuse to eat chocolate!

For this recipe I used Green & Blacks organic chocolate (a little bit fancy, right?) for all three types... retailing at $4 a block lucky I got it on special otherwise this would have been a very expensive experiment.

Overall it taste great and strawberries are defiantly the way to go with fondue, however just don’t put them in the fridge overnight, it may have been the actual fruit but they seemed a little flavourless whereas in Canberra they’ve only been super sweet.

It’s worth a try, this ménage a trois business; perhaps the real thing is better than the chocolate one? Who knows.

So Red readers, what foods have you experimented with... tell me the good, the bad and the bicarbonated disasters.

Sound off below!
