BREAKING: Novak Djokovic wins his First US Open

The Serbian World Number 1 has become the sixth man in the Open era to win 3 of the 4 Grand Slams.

Djokovic this year took the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open crowns.
The match was played in four sets;  6-2 6-4 6-7 6-1

Djokovic from the start of the match was dominant and looked like there was no slowing down for the Serb whose hot winning streak has captured tennis fans in a twist.

As Djokovic received medical attention it was also Nadal that seemed not up to scratch, touching his hamstring area on several occasion.


The 2010  winner and 2011 runner up admits that he was “happy with what I did” and tried “his best” vowing to come back next year to try his luck.

After the winning cross shot was too much for Nadal to return, Djokovic feel to the ground in something that could not be described as less than Euphoria.
Djokovic described the win as an “incredible feeling”.

It is a time for firsts in the 2011 US Open with both Djokovic and Australian Sam Stosur claiming their first US Open title.
