Texting; Trouble or Treasure?

As if we didn’t know this already.

A study has been conducted into texting (yes, texting) and has revealed we as a society
text more today than we did five years ago.

What were we doing five years ago? For starters MySpace was the bomb and the iPhone had not become the success it is today, heck it wasn’t even released.

Smart-phones were a thing of dream and not in pockets, and the trend for the smallest phone possible was still the rage.

I wonder whether this is a negative or a positive, part of me thinks the former for it means that we are much too busy tapping away at phones to notice the landscape around us.

However, on the other hand, how bad is that we text excessively to friends and family, creating this “texting” as a means to establish and consolidate family and friendship group dynamics?

They used to say that the “family who plays together, stays together” perhaps for the modern family it should be “the family who texts each other, stays together”

Doesn't have the same vibe though, does it?

Thoughts? Is texting a nuisance or a new age delight?
