The Company of Cooking

Cooking is the new black, or at the very least it should bloody be.

After coming home from class and having readings the size of the Amazon on your table, the last thing anyone wants to be doing is making like a master-chef and whipping up a meal, especially when the bright lights of the golden arches lure you nearer and nearer.

I understand that but what all of uni is forgetting is the fun cooking brings, the enjoyment in making a meal that takes longer than 2 minutes to cook or comes out of a tin. I suppose it was the first thing to go when the champers was brought out in O week, after all who would want to waste precious time drinking?

I like to cook, plugging in the iPod and just going at it without an interruption, without any obligation to socialise is fun.

The company of cooking is probably better than what some of you have on a Thursday night out on the town, for the least it doesn’t talk back or have an attitude brought on by the onset of drinking or any other substances.

Whatever is going on in the oven, whatever that you desire to cook is nothing but a good thing and you know what? Instead of tasting chunder or holding someone’s hair, you can taste decent food, not recycled through your throat.

And that, folks is why the company of cooking is failsafe.
