The library of Alexandria back in the time of Cleopatra and
co was said to be one of the largest if not, the largest in the world...
clearly the iPod had not been invented.
Instead of books we have music and plenty of it, so much so
that we, the people are the new form of radio; but without all the ad’s. Which would
have to be a benefit surely?
Owning an 8gb, albeit well-loved (read- damaged) iPod touch
is enough for me, holding more songs than I could possibly listen to I wonder
how, or why, we need so much space?
A funny thing happened the other day, I was perusing old playlists
and found songs I hadn’t listened to since god knows when, and I felt a jolt of
surprise, a jolt only one can get when it is like reviving old music, probably
the same way that TV program Glee feels each week.
It startled me, for holding so much music and even some of
the most played become the barely played, the popular become popular and then
the obscure could become played.
An iPod’s music library; a fickle place.
Holding 800 odd songs is a good amount, probably doing the
same good as hoarding all of your crap.
If when spring cleaning is when the skelet0ons come out of
the closet, then spring cleaning our iTunes libraries will do the same for
girls when throwing out old clothing; uttering the famed words “what was I thinking?”
