Supermarket Wars

An ongoing battle for supremacy, for dosh to enter their pockets and no others, I am talking none other than of the famed supermarket wars.

When one is the shepherd lowering prices, the rest are the sheep that follow, when bread comes down, so does the rest, and so does the quality. Apparently, something has got to give.

And what about that identical thing going on? If I walked into Woollies I wouldn’t know if I was there or in Coles the way it is going these days.

But I shouldn’t be too nasty about this consumerist war, for after all it gives the budget conscious student to survive on food (Mi Goreng is an exception, as you’d expect).

So while there are casualties such as conformity and lack of quality of some foods in order to get to the cheapest possible, on the upside there are lower prices and better for the penny pinchers out there.
