The Gastronomic Adventures in Cycling

If you think that is an article about food in cycling and all that nutrition and the like, well look way, rather this is for the spectators both on location and on the lazy boy.
To watch cycling is like watching a game of footy, you don’t watch it without food do you?

But instead of a pie and coke or a giant pretzel at Baseball in America, cycling is more about the finer things in life.

Let’s begin with cheese. Some people have the vice of chocolate and have difficulty being pulled away from the sweets aisle whereas I have difficulty moving from the deli. Admiring the Swiss cheeses, the fetta’s and salivating at the  thought of Camembert and Triple Cream Brie it’s the perfect indulgence for when ice cream just won’t do.
As cycling is a European sport, why not celebrate this? rip out the cheese platter and a glass of red, bring some friends around and appreciate both the scenery and the food at hand.

Other foods that go with Cycling the same way tomato sauce seems to go with everything, includes croissants and pastries. Yes, they may not be so good for the hips but believe me, you’ll forget this when those lips are licked.
For added fun even make the pastries yourself, especially French tarts, some of my personal favourites are the blueberry tart or apple tart that respectively make watching cycling more about the atmosphere allowing you to appreciate the sport, and its associated content.

With the world championships coming up and the weather still being mild in early September even making a batch of French toast with maple syrup or crepes with do, whatever tickles your fancy is what goes when watching this great sport. Whatever you feel is indulgent is what you cook, these are only suggestions.

So relish the cooking, the eating and of course, the cycling.
