Saxo-Bank licence in doubt by commission

While the Contador saga and its relative dust have settled, it seems that a new dilemma is waiting to fill in the blanks.

It appears, that from the aftermath of the Contador ruling which lead to the Spaniard experiencing a backdated two year suspension and the loss the of the 2010 Tour de France among other titles that included the 2011Giro D’Italia, the International Cycling Union (UCI) have questioned whether or not to repeal the World Tour Licence of Contador’s team Saxo-Bank Sunguard.

If the decision (roughly to be expected in June) which is to be determined by the Licensing commission disregards the ranking points of Alberto Contador (68 points to be exact) are ignored in the aftermath of his suspension then the Danish team led by 1996 Tour winner Bijarne Rijs will be stripped of their UCI World Tour licence.
