The Academy Awards and their respective gold statuettes manage to always pull a surprise out come late February each year.
One of the more surprising additions this year was the nomination of comedy Bridesmaids
possibly the worst incarnation of comedy to be created. Sure, there is one funny laugh out loud part, but after than it is gloves on and a ride to pity laugh town.
How does a film get nominated when in a category facing the enigma that is Woody Allen?
One probable answer to this is that the Academy has to n0minate some mainstream films and more now than before in order to appear current and up to date with the youth who are the new generation of movie goers.
