Whether or not this is the fault of the commentators or the natural route that today the game is taking, but tennis is being illustrated as the tense worthy battle that can extend into the wee hours of the night.
The excitement of a match, the splendour of the play or he very large possibility that
someone could usurp the champion is what engages us into saying “one more minute, one more point, and one more set”.
The match can be scintillating, and none more so that the 2008 Wimbledon Final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal which, quite literally had it all, with mammoth rain delays, a five set match that went one players way and then another, a large tiebreak as well as the conclusion being a joyous occasion.
While the match kept me up until the rooster cried, it was a match that you could not pull away from, instead, it had me glued to the tv.
And to think, this is all a game of a ball, a racquet and a few lines in the ground.
