To most uni students it seems that the nation’s capital is too highbrow for their partying lifestyle.
I see this a little differently and as someone born and raised outside the city, Canberra is neither boring nor disengaging. In fact, it is rather the opposite.
It is a city with culture that comes from film archives, national libraries and galleries as well as a thriving political atmosphere instead of clubs and shopping avenues.
I think that the appeal of Canberra, while not as immediate a feeling as that of what you get when in Melbourne is one that manages to grow o you, especially when it is as a city appreciated for all the national privilege that it has.
