The cycling season is warming up, I can feel it in my gears.
Despite there still being five months, plenty of preliminary tours plus a Grand Tour before the Tour de France for 2012 drops, fervour of excitement is starting to swirl.
But before the grandest of them all can well and truly kick off there are some issues to address.
One of which concerns three time winner Alberto Contador (claiming the 2007,2009 and 2010 titles) will learn of his 2012 cycling fate next week as to whether he will be suspended and have titles stripped due to the consumption of contaminated containing an illegal substance. On February 6, news of the matter will be released, so I’d stayed tuned pedal-meisters.
The one thing that I love in the build for the tour- and especially this year is the rise and perhaps hope in the underdog. This so happened to Frenchmen Thomas Voeckler who held the yellow jersey in last year’s race for several days before he surrendered it to Andy Schleck before the time trial in Grenoble. However, in the lead up to Le Tour and being a Frenchmen there is visible pressure for Voeckler to go one better and claim the first Frenchmen to win Le Tour in 27 years.
What parts of the new cycling season are you looking forward to?
