The Assange Factor

The impact of the Wiki-Leaks organisation and its founder, Australian Julian Assange is yet to be fully understood but well on its way to making a mark.

Assange has been in the media in recent months due to his stances on embedded
journalism, Cable Gate as well as his legal matters that he considers to be  politically motivated.

Assange is, and has been painted as something of an enigma where there has been no
clear definition of the man nor of what WikiLeaks has done, or achieved as being either good or bad.

From this point, what will his influence be? Despite a trickling of literature and journal articles on the organisation and the man, the influence is something that has not taken the world by storm, which makes me consider, is the process of influence more rapid in popular culture than it is in politics?

But I digress, and in getting back to my point, what shape do you think the influence of Julian Assange and WikiLeaks take, if any at all?
