And this Summer

While the summery season may be upon us, but not so much the weather, it has got me thinking about what I shall be doing off the record from the Daily Red (that is, when I am not blogging).

Some people, as should be expected for those around my age will spend the months drinking and carrying on pertaining to more staged drama than that on reality programme The Hills.

Some people are going overseas-to drink no less, but how about myself? How will be seeing the calendar be thrown in the bin, then another put up? How will I wake on the first day of 2012?

There will be a lack of alcohol in my life, you see, it is a bad influence that I frankly am not needing, besides, fun (gasp) can be had while walking in  a straight line down the promenade.

Instead, it is a goal of mine to read more, to get started on that list of mine that has been bubbling away more than the witch’s cauldron next door.

This summer while the temperatures may soar, and the months roll feverishly into February, it is the book that has my attention, and my summer loving, and yes, to quote Grease; it had me so fast.
