There’s a lot of pressure on the new comeback kid Ian Thorpe, so while it may be good for Geoff “Skippy” Huegill, it isn’t so much for the man with big feet and even bigger reputation for dominating the pool.
At the Singapore Wold Cup meet, it was more a case for Thorpie to get through his first
professional swim race in six years, to get it over and done with, as well as rid himself of the nervous energy.
Thorpe place second in the heat, allowing him to progress to the final of the Butterfly swim style.
Not bad for a day’s work, and definitely a good place for Thorpe, to again become the Thorpedo.
