Berlusconi; out of politics but not out of mind

Silvio Berlusconi, to some he is remembered as the three time Prime Minister, to others he is the politician with a penchant for both parties and pretty girls.

But as of today confirmation has arisen that he has stepped down from his political role.

Interestingly it has been the first major scalping related to the Euro zone crisis, due to pressure from the market in Italy to step down. Mind you, with a trial alleging he paid for sex to an underage prostitute and two other corruption trials in the future,  no-one could blame him for taking a break.

For years, the removal of Berlusconi from Italian parliament has been the catchcry of countless Italians. And that sentiment had reached fever pitch this year.

While he was not the incumbent PM, I wonder what the impact of removing this man will have on the politics of Italy, and those that mobilised to remove him, does it solve their problems? What or who do they target next?

Sound off below.
