Tour de France Highlights?

I am a fan of le Tour, there is no doubt there, the same there is no doubt that I have red hair.

So inevitably attaining the 2011 complete highlights of Le Tour De France whereby an
Aussie, OUR Aussie claimed victory. Getting my hands on this DVD had the same earnest as a fat kid trying to open the cookie jar. It’s serious business, I tell you.
I love it, but I have on large chicken bone to pick with it.

Why can’t it have been the entire tour and not the highlights? Last time that I recall, reliving history was not a highlights reel.

Did Napoleon remember his battle of Waterloo before he got arrested in less than 30 minutes? Hell no! He would have gone over and over it, trying to see what went oh so wrong for the little emperor.

So why the Tour de France, ALL OF IT couldn’t had been placed on a dvd, sure it might be more expensive but let me remind you all.... AN AUSSIE WON THE GRATEST BIKE RACE FOR THE FIRST TIME!

If that read like I was yelling, then please go ahead and presume so.

And it’s not just watching the entire stage just for Cadel but to watch it develop from a beginning to the end with highly exciting and tense throughout the middle.

I’m hoping that they, SBS and their program Cycling Central do something about this, for what joy am I going to get from watching th Highlights of Alpe D’Huez and its impact of Evans’ bid to win Le Tour without watching the the whole thing through to build the suspense.

I suppose then you could compare the Highlights package with skim milk; it just does not taste the same.

NOTE:  I am not saying that I dislike the highlights package, but for the significance of Cadel winning the Tour, couldn’t they have brought out the FULL  version and not the diluted one?
