On the other side of the net

Tennis, for as much as I love the sport and enjoy watching it endlessly, the constant discussion and issue of pay surrounds and frankly, pisses me off more than an Australian losing a match.

So each of the winners, on both the male and female divisions will each earn a rather cool
$2.3 million for winning the first Grand Slam of the year.
Of course with the discussion of pay comes the argument that pay day for the winners should be equal.

Should it? No way.

Women play three sets. Men play five. Women don’t hit or play as hard as their male counterparts; it is as simple as that.

Yet here we are where equality for women goes to the extent that even when we, the
ladies of the world cannot match the men.

I’m all for feminism and for women be on the same level as men, only though if they can match it with them. The difference between play and the fact that they, the woman plays three to his five sets justifies otherwise.

I don’t think that the prize money difference should be drastically different, just, and different.

What do you think, Readers?
