My iPod is like Lady Gaga, one day a man, one day a woman and the rest of the time is constantly changing.
If I were in a relationship with my iPod (which is not that bad an idea considering you can always change its tune whenever you please) it is one of love and of neglect. It has seen the ground as much as it has seen the light of day, it too has attained some battle wounds of the highest kind.
A severe crack in the middle of the screen that would make any Techie at Dick Smith blush and dirt behind the yellow covering that even shames this blogger, but despite this, somehow, someway my ‘Pod has survived and stays with me for another day, and hopefully a few more years.
So here is my love letter to this iPod of mine, it might not be much, but that’s not our style; you give me music, I give you a few bumps and bruises along the way.
IPod, I know you’ve had more earphone changes than a model’s clothes on the catwalk, sometimes we’ve even become a perfect threesome, happily going everywhere together, playing a perfect harmony but it has, up until this point never been a full commitment on the earphone’s behalf.
I know that when we find out that they were never in it for the long haul, it is devastating and we fall apart-literally. You’ve heard my heard screams of anger when they leaves us be. Its heartbreak Shakespeare could never understand.
It’s been a touching relationship, for I was never into you from the beginning but then I touched you. It was something out of this world entirely but here we are, two or three years in and still going strong with the songs.
I never meant to hurt you, for you to have that mighty scar on your screen or to be dropped so many times that people actually mistake you hotcakes, but what we have is unique.
You save me from the awkward moments, keep me company and console me all the while being the ultimate pin up. To leave without you is like leaving Santa no milk and cookies.
Though we have our ups and downs, and I love you for staying this far, but you are slowing, beginning to ignore my demands to change the music. So whether we work out or not, well let’s not think of that just yet
Yours truly,
Daily Red
