The Worlds will reach an exciting end

Tomorrow night, the best of the 2011 Copenhagen UCI world championships have been saved till last with the elite Men’s road race.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen all the pro’s in the same location so it’s a reunion of talent, it seems.

The 266km race will go around the city and slight parts of the country of Copenhagen.
While the bookies suggest this is a sprinters end, with the main favourites being One day classics wonder-kid Philippe Gilbert and the Manx missile, Mark Cavendish.

For the Aussies, Matt Goss or Stuart O’Grady are touted as longer, but not excessive shots while O’Grady is seen as a dark horse.

My tip? I’m keeping my cards close to my chest but think that Gilbert will attack but will also end up on the podium at the race’s end.

Will it be the top podium for Gilbert or will Cavendish pull ut another trick from his helmet and stun the peloton?

You’ll have to watch to find out!

SBS Cycling Central’s website will livestream the men’s race from 6pm tomorrow night and will be on the telly on SBS from 11:10pm.
