Sounds of a Copycat

As the old saying goes, imitation is a form of flattery and so it would seem in the case of the singers Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.

Their imitators?

Jessie J and Nicki Minaj.

Ms J is a powerful singer in her own right (just listen to her song “Nobody’s Perfect”) but her voice in the latest single ‘Domino’ sounds eerily similar to Perry’s silky smooth voice. 

Then there is her fashion style.

The same rule applies to Minaj, commuting around the city today I realised how much I like the song “Superbass” (yes, a little behind the eight ball on the music scene, I know) but how in parts her voice sounds similar to the Lady of Gaga.

While in the noughties we saw the emergence of midriff baring (if only it was that tame now!) Britney-ites follow the legendary Ms Spears’ footsteps.

The same appears to be happening now.
