A Romantic dinner for One

Sitting down, the plate filled with delicious smells, and colours that would even make the renaissance painters green with envy.

The juice poured into a wine glass ( because I cannot drink alcohol for the time being) and the cutlery laid out.

Now, all you’d think I’d need is a man.

You’re wrong!!

A romantic meal for one does not mean I am pitiful, or trying to imagine a lover next to me, alas, I am merely indulging in food, exploring the gastronomies of good food!

Why should couples have all the fun?

I’ll eat Salmon and Risotto when I bloody well want to!

Cutting it open, the flakiness of the fish and the gorgeous pink colour lit my tastebuds on fire. For the best part, most of it was well cooked, so if it had been a little longer, I might have perfected the art of cooking Salmon on my first go! How about that for a measure of success?

The risotto probably was not the best to combine with the salmon, as it the saltiness of both gave my arteries shock therapy!

To put it this way, the risotto I made to accompany the salmon is so wrong for each other it is on the same wavelength as having a glass of red with seafood (not good!)

Cutting carefully and tasting all the flavours swimming in my mouth (sorry, couldn’t resist!) it was a moment to savour.

Plus, the best part was the Salmon was so filling! I was stuffed for ages, shame it’s so expensive at restaurants, otherwise if I wanted my money’s worth I’d just order that!

Overall it goes to show, single or not, to indulge in food other than plain Jane basics is an experience and a half... and the best bit about a romantic dinner for one?
No idiot of a date to keep you from the meal!
