The Joy of Seconds

As a university student living away from home, it is inevitable that values change, you either become a tight arse, or spendaholic going into debt, but one that above all is the perception of food.

To some, food is a means to get by, and when I say some, I mean most students.

To others (like myself) I’d like to eat decent food, I don’t go out and I don’t drink, thus my indulgence is what I place in my mouth.

I was never big on leftovers when I lived at home, then I come to University, and if there are leftovers from dinner the night before, well then, I’ve got myself a grand day.

Whether this is weird or not, I find that I get excited, excited for the fact it is not a sandwich for lunch but something more scrumptious.

My, how times have changed.

Having enough food to go into the next day is like a budget surplus, everyone wants it, but in the same vein it is also different; because unlike a surplus it is easier to achieve, there are no spending cuts to have leftovers.

So, what are you, the readers like to have as leftovers?
