She ain't all that bad

When you say the name of our Prime Minister Julia Gillard it is as if all the doomsayers are upon you, damning her to a leadership remembered more for conniving actions and poorly made decisions.

While these points can be made about our first lady leader, it can be said about plenty of other pollies out there rolling about in Canberra.
So why focus on the negative when there is enough critique going on by the journo’s about the redheaded prime-minister daily? Even hourly?

For starters Gillard has begun to improve and ladies you know how it is with wearing new shoes; first comes the blisters and the doubts as to why you wore them in the first place, as well as the pain that they cause. Well being a Prime Minister and the first female at that would be a similar thing.

A few weeks ago Gillard was on Late-line and has slowly won me over like Dilmah Tea has in the morning. She said, actually she urged the host that aged care needed an overhaul. Now if you ask me it’s about bloody time we discussed the problems in our own nation, ones that happen here and not in the waters surrounding this nation.

And the second thing to have won me over is her presence at the VFL, again, a few weeks back. She showed up and featured in the commentary box, even showing genuine charm and humour whilst discussing the match and football in the eyes of the community.

If you ask me this was a solid move by the PM for the primary fact that she is getting to the ground level, the grassroots of her voters, an incredibly important thing to do because it has been for far too long that the pollies have sat in the green cars and in Canberra but rarely come to the places where voters reside.

So in summary, the reign of Gillard, and her first lady leadership term is not necessarily that bad, so stop being too negative on her, after all, the shoes of the prime-minister are just starting to wear and mould around her, rather than blister and ache.

She ain’t all that bad, that Julia Gillard.
