Hello Spain!

A country drenched in culture and passion as it is sun is the next and final Grand Tour of the 2011 season, a season that has seen history being made.

For the ladies out there, Spain is probably more famous for Javier Bardem and Antonio Banderas whose looks usurp even their acting skills and for good reason too.

When it comes to Lonely Planet Fanatics and Euro-centric individuals out there, Spain means three things; Bulls, Tomatoes, and a sultry if not sexually alluring atmosphere.

However as the Tour of Spain (Vuelta a Espana) begins its trek around rugged beauty of this country, it also will highlight further things about this Country and while cycling is the mode of deliverance, it is not the be all and end all to this race. For the race showcases the best of Spain and the same could be said for Le Tour de France and the Giro D’Italia (Tour of Italy).

So as SBS gears up to show selected stages of this tour, of the Vuelta, it is well worth watching not just for the sheer awe you’ll get when you realise these are men on bikes doing punishing climbs and pushing their bodies to the pure limit but also to see Spain showcased.

It’s the next best thing to Antonio or Javier, ladies.
