Swearing like a Soldier til we get used to it


There, I said it, a stereotype.

Can swearing, and saying the same thing over normalise, and is this really a good thing?

They say that to get over something, or to adjust to it is to say it over and over (dropping the F bomb is nowhere as scandalous as it once was back in my day).

I’ve been thinking then, what is the new hush hush? What are the words that make us squirm in our seats, rather than laugh away? Or more, use them freely and flippantly?

Obviously one that still drives my knickers into a knot and a half is the C word but in addition I wonder is there too much else that is linguistically taboo?

This is something to consider, as is the notion that perhaps overexposure to, well, everything has caused a numbness which has alluded to barely anything to being taboo.

What words are you no longer/ grown comfortable with?
