Awards right around the bend

Some say that it is the season of Clooney, and others speculate the gowns to be worn.

But I say that this is often the season where there are a lot of rough rather than diamond.

In a personal opinion, films around award season aim to be insightful, empathetic as well as pretentious.

I find that films of this nature often try too hard, become too earnest and too serious which is represented in who wins these awards.

While other films feature in the nominations are those that can be enjoyed but their nomination is while in my eyes deserving, is somewhat tokenistic, for after all shouldn’t the films be acclaimed by normal audiences?

There is nothing like scratching your heard at an “Oscar Winning Film” and this comes no sooner than around awards time.

What do you think are some exceptions to this rule?
