I must admit, I have a problem with perfection so when it comes to pruning the bushes to make the garden neater, well that is where I tend to run into some issues.
I begin to cut it with the pruning scissors, beginning a rhythm that makes me sweat and barely cuts through any decent part of the bush.
I later resort to a hand saw, cutting off the bushes at a fast rate, delivering me a sense of achievement that I had wanted, and wanted from making progress into cutting into the heart of the bush.
As the flowers and leaves fall, I am determined to make it neat, and neater it becomes, but before long there is nothing much left to cut.
So it seems that perfectionism got the best of both the Daily Red, and the bush suffered.
