The King Parrot and I

The relationship between a bird and a human is often the butt of jokes and of comedies however, the relationship out in the bush is a little different, where both the bird and human are antagonists.

The birds, king parrots to be exact, are as regal as their name. The males are identified by a stunningly bright red coat and with green on their bellies. The females however are little less glamorous and are mainly green and the assorted shades.

When it comes to their nightly, and morning feed, they wait on the porch with bated breath and look into the home with anticipation, their beady eyes stare until you get the hint that they are looking for some fine country hospitality.

If you don’t feed them, the birds do not merely give up if you  ignore their looks, no, instead they go to the front veranda and begin their chirping.

Birds, can’t live with them, can’t live without them.
