The HomeBake Sale

The bake without the sale, rather than in the old days when scones and homemade pie ruled the kitchen table and windowsills, it was I that both experience and underestimated a good bake.

From muffins, to marbled cupcakes and even to jam donuts that turns out to be more akin to delicious hot jam roll, it is the baking, the unexpected surprises such as to having the oven on, or having far too many of the one thing, which makes the most of this time spent in the kitchen.

At the end of it, I am not fatigued, but feeling inspired, the mounts of warm food and the smells that fill the air, painting the air in a tantalising colour, it is enjoyable to see, like a roll and yeast; the preparations of cooking rise.
