If there is one thing that is to be made aware when beginning, or continuing your vegetarian journey is that there is a vast difference between going veggo on the land, or in that trendy apartment you live in, in the middle of the city.
In Canberra, the variety that comes with vegetarianism is as long a list as Santa’s
Naughty and Nice versions, heck, that considering that he checks it twice!
Perusing the local Coles, there is no one aisle dedicated but the options are broad and plentiful, allowing me to open up a new world without feeling green with envy while others chew on the gristle of a sausage at Christmas.
And the alternative isn’t half bad, from Vegie Snags and Hot Dogs to even Vegie Bacon, my stomach, for all its love of pasta, cannot surely be disappointed.
At the Coles, there are a few shelves stacked with goodies that will satiate my appetite.
In the country however, the options are seemingly smaller with a local supermarket stocked less, and a row of five to six items for sale for the herbivore in heels.
So it is interesting to note and address this difference.
Readers, have you noticed the variation of vegetarian foods between city and country supermarket outlets?
