With luscious locks that could knock the socks off any Prince Charming and the apt colour of Swiss Chocolate, Roger Federer’s legacy since the early 2000’s is coming to an end, one that the Daily Red bereaves, for the game is changing... again.
As we can see, the days when Federer was invincible, uttering fear into his opponents and practically unbettable, his game was of elegance, of strokes that stunned as they spun over the net, are now contrasted with the hard hitting of both Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
Inevitably, the game changes and this is one of those times. It has been coming for some time though I write it today as new is released that Federer is out of the top three in the World; something that has not occurred since 2003 or so.
The ever humble, ever modest player seeming of a year bygone is aging, even his dominance in the game cannot fool Father time.
But what I am really to talk about is not an end of an era (yet, that article will surely come) but how the game is changing.
Hard hitting is the new black, that, and rippling eight packs that sends the women over the edge after a glass of bubbly on a summer’s day.
Right now, the rule of “Djoker” versus the original King of Clay sparks the most attention, sparks the media alive with their antics.
Ask anyone and they love watching Federer, for his grace on the court, the Mufasa to the courts, by this I refer to him being the 21st century rightful king of the courts.
But ask the ladies too and they will say that they fancy a match (or just the player) between two sets of rippling abs. And who can blame them?
That’s the changing nature of this game; hot and can hit a ball hard.
