A small state, with a big social conscience.

Tasmania has always been the smallest state, had questionable ancestry but more importantly has been involved with some pretty important movements.

The Franklin river dam case of 183 comes to mind here.

However in the past days, a same sex marriage bill had been introduced to the legislative assembly (lower house).

Yesterday, it passed the lower house.

This is a historic  moment for a same sex marriage movement in Australia.

While this is only one step, hopefully it gets the movement walking towards legitimising same sex marriage in Australia.

Thoughts?
