And when we all thought child stars were a thing of the past.
It has come full circle and even some more with the rise of
Canadian Justin Bieber which as a consequence (or benefit, however you see it)
has created a whole bunch of aspiring teenagers posting themselves on YouTube,
to be noticed.
And on our television screens we have also seen the victory
of lady voiced Jack Vidgen, aged 14 who won Australia’s got Talent (channel 7)
and a mere few days later has released his first album under the Sony brand.
Seems the fad is not that anymore, after all it has been
revealed that next year the archaic and retro Young Talent Time will make a
comeback to the screens.
So instead of the odd teenager being in the talent
competition, there is a programme dedicated entirely to them. Needless to say
the enthusiasm bites me the same way a bee stings the foot.
While the child star fad went out of fashion for a while, it
is well and truly back in Australia, though I wonder if it really left?
Readers, will you tune in, or tune out to the revamped Young
Talent Time (YTT for short)?
