Awards shows;
there are so many that it could supply its own channel two fold but let’s not
give television any more “brilliant” ideas, shall we?
I myself don’t
mind watching the Oscars, the Logies (if I’m really bored) and other awards
shows but to how many are really needed?
The glitz and
the glamour is really why the ratings come, like a dog to the bone, us females
out there can’t help but ooh and ah when it comes to the sartorial looks on
celebrities from A-Z list.
Hence why there
are so many types of awards shows now, the glitz and the glamour reels us all
in and if it works, why not try it for different ages? Used to watch the Oscars as a kid and frankly
was boring, so with teen choice awards and Nickelodeon awards being more age appropriate.
However, it does
add more shows to our repertoire.
The problem is
that with all these awards, what is important now? The Oscars are still the crème
de la crème, the night of nights but perhaps its significance is waning when
the proliferation of other awards keep coming by the minute meaning that one
day, perhaps not for while the importance of the academy awards its prestige will
be on the same level as other shows.
But for all this
whinging, it is a lot of fun to watch shows, to watch ones relevant to your
likes, dislikes and sheer detesting. And
award shows are important, crediting actors, musicians and the like where
credit is due, though I am yet to see how this applies to Justin Bieber.
Like at a
swimming carnival these younger awards shows are practically the participation
ribbons than they are the blue 1st places.
But for the
sartorially minded out there, the awards themselves are irrelevant but the
clothes, what the celebs are wearing, that, is the key to the importance of
award shows.
