The Holiday

They say that forty winks do you good. How about four months or so?

The Daily Red, for all that it is worth despises the concept of a hiatus on TV, but not so much in terms of this blog.

The telling point for a break between posting and living came when I wrote about pillows.
Yes, pillows.

It might not seem exhaustive that writing three posts a day will induce inside me a case of the writer’s block, but alas, finding the right angles is wherein this argument lies.

I love the blog, and no doubt it shall return come the month of July where hopefully the time off has allowed the blog to grow, develop and just mature (something that evaded one Holden Caulfield despite the circumstances).

Heck, in this first stint of writing it has been one heck of a ride, and as a new blogger it has taught valuable lessons.

Think of it as a way for the blog to become 2.0, whereby it becomes better, I mean look at Kim Kardashian (on looks only) post sex tape she has become a hottie, as has Rihanna.

So who says that this break won’t be good for the blog?

See you in four months.

A chance for Sky to touch the Sky

Team Sky has the ideal position for the 2012 Cycling Season and particularly for Le Tour de France and the London Olympics.

With two  big names, and even bigger egos to uphold, there was going to be the question of whether Sky in Le Tour would aspire for either the defence of the Green Jersey (Mark
Cavendish) or go for gold (or in this case, yellow for Bradley Wiggins).

However i feel that there will be more of a focus on Cavendish’ plight to gain another
Green Jersey for his blistering performances in sprinting- and to gain the most points  s opposed to going for the larger, and far harder challenge of yellow.

This is not say that there will not be a time when this does occur.

But I will not be in the year of the Olympics.
Wiggins is an expert on the track in events such as the Madison and the Pursuit (he has won 6 Olympic medals, including two gold, since the 2000 Sydney Olympics).

I’d imagine that the focus for Wiggins would be the Olympics this year as opposed to the
Tour but it has confirmed the focus will be more on the road race and time trial (which Wiggins is also rather good at).

Will Sky get to have the cake of brilliant riders, and have the cake of them collecting big this season?

GillRudd, blasting back from the past

The rivalry between Kevin Rudd (former Prime Minister) and Julia Gillard (current
Prime Minister) has burst the seams if civility and evoked another Leadership spill.

Not so long ago it was Rudd defending his job, and now vice versa.

I remember the moment that Rudd was booted out by sheer numbers voting against his leadership of a party that had claimed government after being in opposition for 11 years.

Will the spill on Monday be as memorable, will it stop the nation and heck, silence twitter?

Probably not, but the result however will be intriguing for many reasons.

If Gillard loses, it will be labelled karma by her haters, and that she had it coming. It will also illustrate an instability in the government and the only untrustworthy thing in this party is no longer Gillard but rather the party’s system of being unable to stick with the leader.

While musical chairs is fun for 4,5 and 6 year olds, it is exhaustive and disenchanting when it comes to swapping in the cabinet or for the role of Prime Minister.

If Rudd loses then there will be some disappointment, but the real impact will worm itself out from the statistics;  if he loses largely then the chance of him coming back are nondescript, but if he loses within a small firing range then a chance still lies for Rudd if Gillard loses the upcoming election for which the party, presumably would then really implode.

No Secondhand Pasta

Most food can be enjoyed a second time around, and cherished even.

This does not include pasta though.

There are some meals that merely cannot be reheated and when it comes to pasta, it would make any Italian cry.

The pasta sticks together and the cheese merely a melting mess (not a moment).

What is one of the worst things you’ve tried to heat up for seconds?

The summer Moment

What is there to do when the mercury is boiling, perhaps almost bursting.

When the sweat drips from all over you, there is both hesitation to jump under the hose and
cool off as well as there is eagerness.

The two emotions meet each other halfway and  still walking out there, the heat simmers and so does the stubbornness.

Washing down under the water which seems shockingly cold but then some moment it changes and then the water becomes splendid, and all you want to do is sit under it, let it drip and never let yourself dry.

Funny that.

Oscars Glory

The Oscars are stale.

But at the same time the desire to watch and observe from the other side of the grass.

What about this contradiction?

The Oscars themselves is nothing but a formality, and for that thee glamour usurps and the ratings drop.

Oscars, are you watching or waning?

How Long does it go for?

The technological circle of life has seemed to increased in length.

Apple has dominated the market for as long as I recall, and seems to be gaining in strength rather than riding out to their sunset.

When will, windows resume leadership> will they?

Clean them and Sweep them

I love to cook, but the cleaning? Not so much.

When it comes to picking up handy hints on how to keep the workspace clean and the mixture in the desired location, I jumped at the chance to know how.

One idea was to use a jug to pour pancake or cupcake batter into the locations required.

I’ve tried this and now use it all the time, it as clean as a baby’s bum  and the more that there is no mess, the better.
